Delicious French Toast Stuffed With Strawberries Recipe
Brioche bread, cream cheese, and strawberries are used to make the tasty Valentine's Day breakfast or brunch dish known as Strawberry Stuffed French Toast.
Ingredients
➢1 cup low-fat cottage cheese or ricotta
➢milk, half a cup, skim
➢2 cups sliced strawberries
➢2 tablespoons of honey.
➢2 tablespoons of chopped or sliced almonds.
➢Tbsp. of butter
➢2 eggs
➢A cup of milk1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
➢Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
➢Eight pieces of whole grain bread
➢Granulated sugar (optional)
Method
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta, milk, strawberries, honey, and almonds by giving everything a quick toss. Place aside.
2. In a sizable cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
3. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
4. Working with one slice at a time, dip the bread into the egg mixture, give it a good stir to evenly coat, and then place it in the heated pan.
5. Up till the pan is filled, repeat.
6. Cook each slice for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until the crust turns golden brown.
7. Take out of the pan.
8. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the four slices of toast.
9. To create a sandwich, add another slice to each of them.
To build a sandwich, place one slice on top of the other and cut it on the diagonal to form two equal triangles. If you'd like, top with a drizzle of pure maple syrup or a shake of powdered sugar.
